Worship
2 Chronicles 5:13 & 14 tell of the dedication of Solomon's temple.
"The trumpeters and singers joined together to praise and thank the Lord with one voice. They raised [their] voices, accompanied by trumpets, cymbals, and musical instruments, in praise to the Lord: For He is good; His faithful love endures forever. The temple, the Lord's temple, was filled with a cloud. And because of the cloud, the priests were not able to continue ministering, for the glory of the Lord filled God's temple."
At Concord Baptist Church we invite you to join together as we “praise and thank the Lord with one voice.” And, yes, we use “voices, trumpets, cymbals, and musical instruments” as we worship and praise God.
The music style in the 8:00 a.m. worship service is Traditional/Southern Gospel. The first Sunday of each month we are pleased to have “New Creation” lead our early worship service. If you enjoy Southern Gospel music, you will enjoy hearing them.
The music style in the 10:00 a.m. service is Traditional/Contemporary. This service is led by our sanctuary choir and orchestra. This is the service where we utilize “voices, trumpets, cymbals, and musical instruments” in worship.
Sanctuary Choir
The Sanctuary Choir is under the direction of Joe Vallandingham. Open to students and Adults, they meet each Sunday afternoon at 4:30 p.m.
Orchestra
The Orchestra meets each Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. and is under the direction of Joe Vallandingham. It is open to students and adults. Many of the members of the orchestra began playing for the first time as adults in order to use their talents for worship and music mission opportunities. Other members “dusted-off” their instrument after not playing for a number of years.
Youth Choir
“His Witness” is under the direction of Alex Whitlow. Students 7th - 12th grade are encouraged to sing. This group traditionally attends “PraizFest” each January to enrich their worship experience.
